We fixed a whole bunch of issues from the last forum builds and are excited to share a new build with you!
What’s new:
• Photos taken in the same second now get numbered and ordered correctly, and don’t overwrite each other
• Fixed some bugs that resulted in not all photos and videos being uploaded
• Performance improvements
Dropbox can no longer be installed on an SD card
We know some of you like this feature, but unfortunately the app cannot function properly when installed on an SD card. Accounts often get unlinked due to how Android’s Accounts and Sync feature works, and it’s impossible for Camera Upload feature to function correctly. We’ve tried to keep the app as small as possible to make this transition a bit easier.
As a reminder, here’s what’s new in this release:
• Automatically uploads photos and videos in the background using Wi-Fi or data plan
• 500 MB of free space on first photo uploaded automatically
• Upload files of any size (no more 180 MB limit!)
• Support for resuming file uploads when there are network issues
• Various performance improvements & bug fixes
During this beta period, we are also offering additional free space to test automatic uploading of photos and videos. For every 500 MB of photos and videos automatically uploaded, you’ll receive another 500 MB space bonus, up to 5 GB total (including the initial 500 MB space). This space is not separate from 5 GB given for uploading on our desktop clients. Uploading from either desktop clients or the Android app will count towards the same 5 GB free space.
